Team Building Workshop for Unique Office Mural Commission

I was recently commissioned by global headquarters of design strategy company, ThinkPlace, to create a unique artwork commission in their office in Barton, Canberra ACT.

I arrived at this artwork concept through facilitation of a team building creative workshop with their employees, using art therapy techniques to help them discover the core reasons for why they’re passionate about the work that they do at ThinkPlace. I then created this meaningful artwork in-house, both designing while facilitating on going conversations with employees, and painting in house during office hours as a tool to connect the team to their new feature artwork.

The artwork is deeply meaningful to their unique brand story, featuring on-brand narratives, mixed with symbolic messaging to instill hope, patience and care into the employees every day.

This mural is located on the main feature wall of a large, open plan, office. The space is used both for employees and meetings, and as a corporate event space. This mural needed to serve as a beautiful and gentle backdrop for all occasions.

Australian female mural artist BOHIE created this office mural in response to an in-house art residency including workshop facilitation with ThinkPlace employees to understand and create in collaboration with their workplace culture and brand values in their headquarters in Canberra ACT.

BOHIE

Based in Braidwood, NSW, BOHIE creates art, illustration, public space murals, and creative workshopping experiences that explore wonder and connection to each other and to the natural world.

She works alongside educational institutions, government agencies, community focus groups and stewards of the natural world to design change-making campaigns for each creative project. Bohie utilises a research-based methodology to find inspiration for her artworks, resulting in 2D images which are laden with deeper stories and symbolic meaning.

This narrative driven conceptual development injects her unique authenticity and grass-roots integrity into the public arena, which she sees as a conscious challenge to public advertising. In a time of rapid change, extreme instability and a globally recognised feeling of imminent threat, Bohie’s art provides messages of hope and empowerment for a changed future.
